This was Jonathan's second trip to Governador. The Brazilian Christians at First Baptist Governador are so eager and helpful that they make a mission trip easy. Jonathan, Catherine Hewett, Ruth Lamos, Tim McIlhaney and Rissa Person made up the Americans for the team.
Bible school boys
The mission church in Turmnalina held Bible school for the children everyday. Lots of children heard Bible stories for the first time.
Bible school songs
Catherine's always loved children. She's learned a Portuguese Bible song and she and Rissa are singing it with the Brazilian Christians leading the Bible school.
Orphanage
We visited two orphanages and told the children about Jesus' love. Catherine's posing with two boys at the evangelical orphanage.
Jonathan preaching
Jonathan's preaching on Sunday morning at the Tomalina mission church with Junior Barbosa interpreting. Junior is the best interpreter Jonathan's ever worked with. Fast and smooth and with a huge American vocabulary. Great story teller. Great with kids.

Message of hope

Worship from needy hearts
The drug rehab center's clients were joyful worshippers. We sang for them and they sang for us. The center is a Christian-based program that is having some good results.
Rissa's testimony
Rissa gave her testimony about the impact of drug abuse on her family and it really hit home with the men in the rehab center.
Street witnessing
Ruth Lamos with Junior's help, uses the Evangecube to witness to a man in the street. He didn't accept Christ, but he was given a chance. Perhaps he has accepted Christ by now! The Gospel must be given out all over the world so people have a chance to respond!

Tim McIlhaney found a ready audience and they asked him lots of questions. Several of these young people prayed with Tim to accept Christ.

These five people helped many Brazilians recieve Christ. They also fought through travel troubles and enjoyed incredible Brazilian food!
