15 American Christians went to Lima, Peru to help Peruvian Christians grow the Kingdom of God. More than 500 were converted through personal evangelism, crusade services, street preaching and messages in schools. Some of the poorest heard the Gospel. Young and old accepted the message. "Facing the Giants" and Samaritan's Purse boxes were also useful strategies. Praise the Lord for His blessings and His power to save!
Open, open, open

Tony hands out boxes
This is Tony Grainger helping to handout the Samaritan's Purse boxes to the children at the mission of Betania Church in Lima.
Waiting to open
Here are some of the approximately 70 people in the Carabayllo mission. They've got their boxes and they're barely waiting to open them up! This Samaritan's Purse deal is a really fantastic way to share the Gospel and help people too.
Wes James' singing with the kids
Wes is very good with Spanish language praise songs and everyone enjoyed his leadership. Margarita, pastor Samuel's wife, is to his left.
Jovenes respond
Jovenes are "young people." Jonathan preached at a youth rally on Saturday night and these are some who responded to the invitation to receive Christ. Jonathan's in the middle of that circle, but you can't see him!
Hay Vida en Jesus!
Sunday morning invitation at Betania Baptist Church in Lince, Lima. Jonathan preached on "Seed Scattering" and many responded to commit to scattering Gospel seed. Some were saved. Pastor Samuel Reategui Sanchez is leading a prayer over those who responded.
Jonathan preaching Sunday morning
Omar Cuellar, pastor Odon's son and the youth leader for the Peruvian Baptist Convention, is Jonathan's favorite interpreter in Peru!
SS Classroom easy add on
Lots of pastors needing space would be jealous of Betania's solution to new classrooms. In Lima, everybody's outside all the time anyway. It never rains. The weather is nice. So, if you need a new classroom, just put up an awning for shade. They served us orange soda and crackers and the teacher was very prepared. He was introducing a study through Isaiah. By the end of class, there were 12 men at the table, not counting the gringos.
